Capital Investment Subsidy for Construction of Rural Godowns and Silos NEW

Introduction

Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Govt. of India has approved the continuation of Agriculture Marketing Infrastructure (AMI) scheme. Eligible entities can claim capital subsidy on construction of rural godowns and silos for storage of agricultural products under this scheme.

Validity of the scheme is extended up to 31.03.2026

Storage Infrastructure Projects (Godown/Silo) – Quantum of Subsidy

Capital cost of the project for the purpose of subsidy shall be calculated on the project cost as appraised by financial institutions or actual cost as certified by a Chartered Accountant whichever is lower.

Note:- In case of godown is set up by state agency, maximum capacity is allowed up to 10,000 MT.

Eligibility Criteria

1) Minimum Promoters’ contribution should be 20% of the project cost.
2) Minimum term loan (including subsidy) to be sanctioned by Financial Institutions should be 50% of the project cost.
3) Date of sanction of term loan by Financial Institutions should be on or after 01.04.2023.
4) Storage Infrastructure Project (Godown/Silo) to be built under this scheme should be constructed based on structurally sound engineering design and should also be functionally suitable for storage of agricultural produce.
5) Godown structure should be properly ventilated, have well fitted rolling shutters/steel doors, air inlets/windows and ventilators and should be waterproof (control of moisture from floor, walls and roofs etc.) and have minimum plinth height of 2.50 feet and other basic infrastructure facilities.
6) Godowns above 1000 MT shall be registered with Warehouse Development Authority (WDRA) to avail the benefits of e-NWR.
